New COVID-19 Resources

COVID-19 affected millions of lives in 2020. Many people have experienced and most already know someone who has had the virus. COVID-19 affects everyone differently. Some experienced zero symptoms, while others lost their sense of smell and taste, and even developed serious symptoms, and way too many people died. Fortunately, bringing in the new year, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration established two vaccines that may prevent COVID from you and others, the Pfizer and Moderna vaccine. 
The Pfizer vaccine is available for people above 16 years old and requires a second dose after 21 days. the Moderna vaccine is available for ages 18 and up and also requires a second dose after 28 days. 

Am I eligible for the vaccine?
We are only on phase 1. It will take a couple of more months for the general public to receive the vaccination. For right now, essential workers and healthcare workers are eligible for both vaccines.
If you are or work in:
  • Above the age of 65
  • Front line healthcare worker
  • EMS
  • Long-term care
  • Police officer
  • Fire department
  • Corrections officer
  • Education
  • Food & Agriculture
  • Public transportation

How can I find out if I am eligible?

This website guides you to the Eligibility Screening Tool. You must fill out the application to find out if you are eligible for the vaccine.

Where can I get tested?
The Mohawk Valley Regional Vaccination Network covers 6 counties, Oneida, Herkimer, Otsego, Montgomery, Fulton and Schoharie and 10 hospitals,
St. Luke’s and St. Elizabeth hospitals in Utica (MVHS), Rome Memorial Hospital, Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown, Little Falls Hospital, A.O. Fox Hospital in Oneonta, Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville, Cobleskill Regional Hospital in Schoharie County, and St. Mary’s Healthcare in Amsterdam. Certain pharmacies also provide the vaccine.

After taking the vaccine, you must still wear the mask to protect yourself and others.

COVID-19 afectó a millones de vidas en 2020. Muchas personas han experimentado y la mayoría ya conoce a alguien que ha tenido el virus. COVID-19 afecta a todos de manera diferente. Algunos experimentaron cero síntomas, mientras que otros perdieron el sentido del olfato y el gusto, e incluso desarrollaron síntomas graves, y murieron demasiadas personas. Afortunadamente, al llegar el año nuevo, la Administración de Drogas y Alimentos de EE. UU. Estableció dos vacunas que ​pueden prevenir el COVID de usted y de otras personas, la vacuna Pfizer y Moderna.
